Through The Glass

Out into the world I gaze
From within my lonely place
I peer into the blackness
From inside this frigid cage

It’s like I don’t exist
But if I take a risk
I’ll find my destination
From deep within the mist

Over time my eyes grow weary
The world grows dark and dreary
Out comes the loneliness inside
And my eyes turn slightly teary

And the glass I hide behind
Grows foggy with my sighs
For through the glass I see
Where true happiness resides
