Many of the poems that I have written throughout my life.
In these few recent days
I have a need for new ways
For my heart longs for home
A new need has been uncovered
And my heart recovered
Set free now to roam
This next poem…
What will it be about?
I have no clue
Should I condemn
And force a clearing cloud
To move out of the blue
I’ll write it about nothing at all
And then sometime next fall
I’ll find all this gibberish
And wonder, “What the fish!”
“These birds don’t fly!?!”
So now I bring to an end
This poem that I now lend
To whoever needs a good cheering
I hope this has brought you some clearing
Passing through a sudden sullenness
I found a deathly lifelessness
Ties broke, anger tore
For the last bit of the long lost lore
What I write I really don’t know
But write I must to help the flow
Emotion piled perilously inside
Cease with the give up of the fight
Help them along, then guide them
That is the way to finding peace
I am finished now, after all that
My written energy has gone all flat
So this is goodbye to you my reader
Though we wade into the waters
We never find the answers
Persistence, it really is futile
And our hopes, they’re all so fragile
Still, vigilant we stand around
Waiting for the answers to be found Continue reading “Answers”
No matter how far away
no matter the travelled path
Distance is always there
Through the good weather
And when things could be better
Distance is always there
Though times are awesome
Like buds in blossom
Distance is always there Continue reading “Distance”
Cold pale light drifts down
It trickles down in small amounts
Swirling in patterns of animosity
Above the silent solace of the city
The air rings with cries of freedom
Which authority finds so loathsome
People cry out in silent pain Continue reading “Cold Pale Light”
My spirit cries out in pain
I am being smothered
Unable to breathe
What could I possibly gain?
We are all so controlled
All for our little degrees
They claim such great fame
I have not yet discovered
Their acclaimed popularity Continue reading “The Oppression of My Spirit”
When you feel down
When you feel low
Look up to the stars
And look at them glow
They watch you go
And talk to you so
They try to cause your heart to grow Continue reading “The Stars”
Lost in a dark valley of depression,
I search for my cure.
Something about me had a torn complexion
Yet what it was I was not sure
So there I stared at my reflection
How long could I endure?
My image, my false facade, yearned direction
Latching onto all those false lures Continue reading “Whole Again”
Somewhere nearby
Around the corner in the sky
There is a beautiful place
There are trees that fly
And nothing ever dies
In that beautiful, beautiful place
The flowers for joy they cry
There are no more annoying flies
In that joyful, restful place
On the water rocks do lie
Without a care on their own mind
In that placid, carefree place Continue reading “A Place Not Far Away”
